GOLFERS’ FOOT PROBLEMS

A long day on the course can be hard on your feet.

The foot functions completely differently in golf than in any other activity.

First, your weight is placed lightly on the balls of your feet, balanced between your front and rear foot. Then there is a slight shift to the back foot, then another shift back to the front.

Golf shoes are specifically designed to give players stability, balance and flexibility during the motion of the golf swing. If the player slips or slides during the swing movement, they are not only subjecting themselves to injuries, but it’s hard to make good contact with the ball and consequently very difficult to produce the great shots.

Good foot action is the mark of an accomplished golfer. Abnormal foot mechanics can lead to not only an inefficient golf swing but pain in the feet, ankles, knees and back.

Orthotics can help. Custom orthotics in your golf shoes may help to decrease foot pain and improve foot function. They can also provide comfort, stability, and will evenly distribute your weight correcting your entire body posture. Orthotics can help improve your balance which ultimately may help you drive the ball farther!

Bring in your golf shoes for a pedorthic analysis.
